Fawad Hussain Syed
Software Engineer • Data Analyst • Supporting Data-Driven Decision Making
Background
I am Fawad Hussain Syed, a software engineer and humanitarian data analyst based in Geneva, Switzerland. My work lies at the intersection of technology, data, and humanitarian priorities, with a focus on building systems that transform complexity into clarity, insight, and practical impact.
My experience spans humanitarian affairs, human rights, and business systems. I have contributed to the development of artificial intelligence microservices, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems for qualitative and quantitative analysis in humanitarian settings, analytics platforms, platforms for data collection and visualisation, performance-optimised e-commerce solutions, and auction platforms that rely on secure financial transactions. This combination of technical and analytical work enables me to bridge software engineering with data-driven decision-making.
Current Focus
At present, my work centres on:
- • Humanitarian analytics and data systems – enabling evidence-based decision-making through structured collection, analysis, and visualisation of complex datasets.
- • Artificial intelligence microservices and RAG systems – creating modular tools for qualitative and quantitative analysis in humanitarian contexts, supporting planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- • E-commerce and auction platforms – delivering secure and high-performing systems that support financial transactions with reliability and trust.
- Web performance and optimisation – improving speed, accessibility, and reliability across modern web platforms, ensuring seamless user experience and sustainable performance for both custom applications and e-commerce systems.
